There is something very wrong with the world that we are made to see around us. Human Society is not happy, there is
protest, discontentment, poverty, inequality, greed, corruption, Ego, Fanatics’, Agnostics’, natural calamities occurring with frightening regularity and above all Global terrorism which just does not want to call it a day.In short there is chaos everywhere. One word that can describe all this is “Qayamat”. In Jamasphi” and at many places in our Zoroastrian scriptures like“Chithrem Buyaat” prayers, it is mentioned that time is near for Shah Behram Varjawand our Saviour to come in this Qayamat and revive us and our Deen. The Saviours from other religions will also appear and will work together with a common goal for grooming mankind and his spiritual revival.

Today every one wants to die a Martyr's death for Religion, but no body wants to live for the sake of true teachings of Religion. It goes without a doubt that we have let go the true kernel of Mysticism in religion and embraced only the outer shell of a glossy show of Religion. We forget that Religion is not show business but it is a way of living. Your Left hand should not be able to know what Tarikats your right hand is practicing.

The Western Astrology call this as Aquarian age and phenomenon that we see today are occuring with lightening quickness. For we never knew that Communist USSR will disintegrate one day and fragment into many small nations, that Germany will one day be united, the revolution in Egypt, Syria, the fall of dictators, and China a sleeping giant awakening to technological boom are all an indicator that we are very much in this Aquarian age. The transition from the Age of Pisces to Aquarian Age is already taking its toll till we roll into Age of peace and calm. We are looking forward to being Optimistic and not being fatally Pessimists. Please see the link provided:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Aquarius

More than 100 years before in past when faith was at its lowest Nadir in our community without caring for deep religious significance when there was idle talks about futility of our time tested customs like Dokhmenashini, Rituals, Sudreh Kusti being only a symbol, Avesta Manthra prayers being considered as waste of time, faulty myopic thinking that offerings of sandalwood to Atash Padshah being waste of sound monetary resources which could have been better utilized for betterment of our community, lack of faith was the reason behind these ignorance’s. Ignorance coupled with arrogance was, and still is the main reason stymieing our spiritual progress.

The Zoroastrian hidden Masters in Demavand who are very much concerned about our community’s spiritual progress saw the need of sending a forerunner before the advent of Shah Behram Varjawand Saheb, and they chose Behramshah Nawroji Shroff whom his followers lovingly call him as Ustad Saheb. He brought amongst us Zoroastrian Mysticism called as Zarathosti Ilme-Khshnoom.

The word Khshnoom can be found even in our scriptures, so it is not something alien that is thrust on us. It is the revival of the lost knowledge called as Ilme-Khshnoom that our forefathers had with them that kept the flame of faith burning in their hearts, that Ustad saheb brought for us. The literature is penned down by his chosen and authorized disciples late Dr. Saheb Faramroze Sohrabji Chiniwala, and Late Jehangirji S. Chinwala.

Late Ervad Phiroze Shapurji Masani had for so many years maintained his publication “Frashogard” all under guidance of Ustad Saheb. Today we see that day by day our faith is again going downhill. The need of Saviour can only be felt when all seems to be lost towards Traditional cause. It is to rekindle that hope and faith and iron out unwarranted fear of our religion dying a premature death that this Blog will be looking forward to. The aim for starting this Blog is to translate the majority of Khshnoom literature that is in Gujarati writings of Late Chiniwala brothers and Late Phiroze Masani for the benefit of those genuinely interested in Zoroastrian Mysticism .

When there is too much of chaos nature allows it only up to a certain threshold limit, once it crosses the limits it puts a
full stop to it, for nature has its own ways of bringing Order out of Chaos.

So in mean time what are we Zarathosti Bastekustian supposed to do that will hasten the advent of Shah Behram Varjawand Saheb ? Are we supposed to look skywards and wait for him eternally ? His advent will much depend upon us also.

In nature there is a law of “Supply and Demand”. If the demand is there, supply is guaranteed. In Bible it is said that "Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find it, knock and the doors will open to you." ….. Mathew 7:7 Niv. Unfortunately the much needed knock never seems to happen and everybody is busy enjoying their fun filled moments and warns us to keep off limits of their rights and Freedom. But they seem to forget that behind every right that one asks for, there is a responsibility which is conveniently forgotten.

"RTI" also known as "Right to information"is blatantly misused in today's world of so called Freedom . Some want Freedom to enjoy whatever is appealing to them, but is considered as Taboo in Society. Not before all these false ideology will be swept away by fury of nature and realization of folly will dawn naturally aftermath, nevertheless too late by then, but the road will be paved for introducing Shah Behram Varjawand to the world.

In middle of face-off between two warring sides and Chaos, we will come to know the time of Varjawand Saheb's arrival automatically. As a Mother knows intuitively the time of delivery of the baby, we will feel the desperate pangs of labour like a Mother feels before her delivery.

Right now only a few are longing for his arrival but just as "A lone sparrow does not herald a spring" similarly one requires a collective thought force to set everything in motion. For that I had started a short exercise every 7.30 a.m. in morning but unfortunately we don’t seem to realize its importance. Till we are all vibrating with one frequency, other word is called as Hum Mithra, Varjawand Saheb’s advent will be a distant dream only. The exercise is as under to be followed by a Mithra every 7 a.m. or around that time frame. No need to be very rigid about time. The Mithra is as under:-

What is Hum Mithra:-

Man proposes and God disposes. Hence we requires Dadar Ahura Mazda’s blessings all the time for success and that is known as “Daham Afriti”. Without it we cannot move forward even an inch. But for his Daham Afriti to be assessable to us we require to think with one vibration in Hamoi, only then can we succeed in our purpose. Dadar Ahura Mazda is not happy when there is infighting so how can we receive his Daham Afreeti. This one thought force having selfless single pure vibration is known as Hum Mithra. The Law of cause and effect governs this universe so whatever incidents we see bad or good its cause has to be there. Every action has its reaction. The bad precedent that we are facing now after a crematorium is announced in Worli where innocent public are falling prey to it. Those encouraging Aramgah and such ashmogi are themselves the victims of their own deeds so we have to pity them instead of contempt for them and a calming thought has to be passed by us at a particular time collectively. If love is the language of angels then why should we be harsh to even our so called enemies. For in life there are no enemies, and everything is Karmic. The Bhali Dua is as under:-

Bhali Dua at 0730 am every morning:-

2 Yatha , 1 Ashem Vohu.

Those ignorant brothers and sisters opposing our age old customs of Dokhmenashini and believe in universality of our religion by inviting all to our holy places and Iranshah need our pity and not contempt for they are bitten by the demon of ignorance and arrogance. O Paak Dadar Ahura Mazda shower your choicest blessings upon them that they regain their lost faith and begin realizing that the true nature of religion is humility.

"Let no harm come upon the Traditional Zoroastrian flag and its values which are so dear to us. Let the reformists agenda and their nefarious plans never succeed. Let no harm befall upon Pavmahal of India that is - our Iranshah of Udwada and all Atash Behram, Atash Adran and Dadgah of India. Let not one day pass without Atash Parasti and our reverence towards Holy consecrated Fire(Pavmahal),Dokhmas, Sudreh Kusti, Mathravani which acts as a weapon to thwart evil. Enable us to protect our racial traits of Parsi Panu through Boonak Pasbani. Enable us to maintain our true “Zarathosti Khandani” by not intermarrying and continue with our Aryan Lineage intact. May the advent of Shah Behram Varjawand come soon, and before him may his forerunners arrive at the earliest and grant us spiritual strength to withstand evil around us. Let my Kusti Padiav and my Tarikats be helpful to nature to fight for the cause of righteousness against the evil negative forces of Drujis, and may it protect us all Zarathustis and entire humanity who live by their religion and its tenets. "Phiroj baad Khureh avizeh Vehdin e Mazdiyasnan" - Let the Khoreh of Mazdiyasni Zarathosti deen protect its faithful followers"

Kusti Padiyav

What is Kusti Padyab ? and various forms of Kusti prayers.

The Kusti prayers is one of the smallest prayers in our deen. This prayer is also called as "Padiyav Sazi" prayer. A Zarathosti Bastekustian is supposed to keep his Kusti Padyab intact. In short it means that he is supposed to do kusti prayers as many times in a day and keep this practice intact.

On further elaboration it means that a human body having three layers of bodies consisting of physical bodies, ultra physical bodies and divine bodies where Ruvan resides. The physical body consist of Tanu (muscles, flesh, bones), Gaetha (Organs) and Azda (invisible to naked eye or by any scientific gadgets) encompassing the physical body. Azda maintains our physical body. Healing of a wound, body fatigue or thirst/Hunger pangs are maintained and controlled by the invisible nature of Azda unknown to today's science.

The physical bodies and ultra physical bodies overlap with each other. On the other side are Divine bodies. Sandwiched between them lies therein an energy or gateway connecting physical/Ultra physical bodies with divine bodies. This energy is known as "Khoreh". Thus Khoreh surrounds the Physical body. Next to Khoreh is Keherp consisting of 16 Chakras which is subtly connected with Ruvan. The outer macrocosmic life sustaining nature nourishes the Keherp and energizes it. It is through Keherp that the outer life supporting nature or "Khudrat" meets Azda and supports our physical body via Khoreh. We all can see how nature is complex and intrigue us with its marvelous functions performed with perfection.

In short Khoreh is the energy of connecting link between outer macrocosmic life sustaining Khudrat and that part of divinely inspired almost perfect Keherp or "Khoda rasida Keherp" which is microcosmic, situated in our physical body but yet is aloof. The other part of Keherp is called as "Madar Keherp" which sustains physical body just as a Mother will sacrifice all her comforts get herself dirty and keep her child clean. The life supporting nature performs its selfless duty and nourishes the physical body of a sinful person also, so that even a sinner can finish off his Keshash and proceed spiritually on its path to perfection.

So we have to maintain our Khoreh in a particular manner by keeping it clean, that Khoreh which links outer macrocosmic world with our microcosmic inner world of our physical body. Our Khoreh carries in itself the dual imprints of physical body as well as of Keherp. The physical body during lifetime carries all sorts of thoughts, words and deeds good as well as bad, these thoughts materialize into actions which are good as well as bad. The result of actions the body has to carry the burden and fruits of his actions which lies as imprint in his Khoreh. Khoreh also carries within itself the combined effects of divinely inspired near perfect Keherp and its imprint which is always beneficial, and the imprint of our physical body with all its negative flaws. The physical body with its actions causes disturbance in Khoreh, but the near perfect Keherp continues sending its life supporting beneficial imprints on khoreh. The purpose behind following Tarikats is to obtain maximum benefits by keeping our khoreh clean and imbibe within the beneficial effects of near perfect Keherp also called as "Khoda Rasida Keherp".

A human even whilst following day to day normal exercise of eating, drinking, and going to toilet creates disorder in his khoreh and further makes it impure. Our Khoreh which lies sandwiched in between (near perfect) keherp and physical body can act as an gateway for the physical body to enter keherp. Our Physical body then becomes “Gavmand” like that part of our Keherp which is near perfect. Sudreh Kusti is “Bakhtar” or weapon given to us by Paegambar sahib which help us to open that door of Khoreh to step into Keherp. Our Khoreh as well as our Sudreh Kusti contains impurities which arises out of our day to day exercise like eating, drinking, and toilet as well as life sustaining benevolent effects of our near perfect Keherp in it. Khoreh is necessary for our physical existence and equally important is our Sudreh Kusti which is our weapon or “Bakhtar” to keep our khoreh clear. Without Khoreh we cannot exist and equally important is Sudreh Kusti for salvation by keeping our Khoreh clean.

Other way of saying is that our Khoreh compositely consists of 1) Good as well as bad imprints of our physical body which in turn is transmitted to our Sudreh Kusti. In addition to this, 2) the benevolent effects that is prevalent in higher Keherp and is life sustaining also do get lodged in our sudreh Kusti. Only if balance is finely tuned and well maintained between these two under currents of Khoreh then and only then can we get access to entrance door of Khoreh. And just how do you maintain this balance.???, is explained below:- Our physical body that we see, unfailingly emits perspiration/sweat which translated is called as “Tafun” or bad heat and which has to be kept under control. Also our inner thoughts or Batein Mithra that dictates our life style has to be controlled first. Meher Patet that is speaking truth and accepting what comes our way as our own self-made karma and resolving never to commit that same mistake again is known as Patet. This is a very powerful Zoroastrian Yoga which will help us towards salvation. Above this we have to abide by observing druj Parhej Tarikats and use of Gomez Nirang. With help of Sudreh Kusti one can, through Kusti Padiyab keep a check and control on bad vibes. This is sure way of keeping negative vibes in control.

Hence Sudreh Kusti and Khoreh both work together in tandem. Fine tuning the two under currents(bad as well as good) in our Khoreh through small but very efficient ritual process of Kusti prayers is known as “Padiyav-Sazashneh”. Every time we go to toilet or whenever we remove Sudreh Kusti from our body before going to bath the balance in our khoreh gets distorted, hence we have to bring back the balance by performing this brief ritual of Kusti prayers. This can be taken as rational behind doing our Kusti Padiyav as many times as possible.

All Bastekustian Zarathosti are not alike and their Khoreh varies between person to person as per the life style they choose to adopt. For example Khoreh of a manual labourer, or a wealthy person who gets his work done by others and khoreh of a Deen Dastur need not be identically similar and they all vary. Hence the balancing factor known as “Putman” in a Khoreh is different for different individuals. The balance in Khoreh is different for individuals. Our Khoreh carries bad as well as good vibes like two sides of a same coin. The balancing effort put forth by various individuals in subjugating the bad vibes and augmenting good vibes in our khoreh is different for different individuals. Our Kusti prayers is given to us Bastekustians as a gift by our Vakshureh Vakshuran Paigambar Saheb in maintaining this balance or “Putman” in our khoreh.

Various types of Kusti Prayers:-

1) Kemna Mazda Kusti Prayers.
2) Sarosh Baaj Kemna Mazda Kusti Prayers.
3) Sarosh ni Kshnuman Kusti Prayers.

Similar to all Yasht and Niyaesh having various kshnumans, kusti prayers can be done with each Yazat’s Kshnuman in all big “Amals”. Hence Kusti prayers is done for maintain equilibrium or balance in our Khoreh. The above explanation will now make sense to us as to why a kusti prayers is so very much essential to us after every time we go to toilet and after our daily bath when we remove our sudreh kusti.

1) Kemna Mazda Kusti Prayers.

There is a rule which has to be understood by us every time we do our kusti, and also called as “Kusti Padiyav”, and it is as below:-

Chu saji padiyavat ashem kha kuni barham dhantra pashe aan.

Translation:- Before you perform padiyav pray Kshnaothra ….. ashem 1 and seal your lips close.

Bashuee dasto ru paet se reha,
Je rumalat numay saaf ru raa.

Translation:- Wash your exposed hands, face and feet three times and wipe it with a dry hanker-chief or a towel.

Pasi Nerang kha kemna Mazda
Hameh ta yak Ashem vohe ejacha

Translation:- Then pray kemna mazda Nirang till Nemsecha ya Armaitish ejacha followed by one ashem.

Then you pray “Nirang e Kusti Bastan”, that is “Hormazd Khodai”, and 2 Yatha, 1 Ashem whilst tying Kusti knots ahead and at back of our waist, and then pray Jasmeh Avengeh Mazda Mazdayasno ahmi …….Ashem 1. Hence by doing above procedure “Padiyav Sajasneh” has been done.

The above Farsi lines has been transliterated from Gujarati book by Kawasji Dadabhoy which was in vogue then and was supposed to be first Avesta book written in Gujarati script, from Saddar bahereh Tavil Baab 39, 54,84.

When it is mentioned here as “Kemna Mazda Nirang”, it can mean plain Kemna Mazda Kusti prayers, and also Kemna Mazda Kusti Prayers plus Sarosh Baaj. During our day to day affairs when we come in contact with various individuals, and have to go often to toilet then our above mentioned balance or Putman in our Khoreh gets distorted or disheveled often. In such a situation we can pray only Kemna Mazda Kusti prayers. Those individuals doing physical manual work can opt to perform Kemna Mazda Kusti prayers, and later on if we want to pray further can pray Sarosh Baaj later and then proceed further with respective Geh prayers, and continue other prayers. This is short synopsis of “Kemna Mazda Nirang”.

2) Sarosh Baaj Kemna Mazda Kusti Prayers:-

But if we want to go a little further and wish to maintain stronger balance or “Putman” of our Khoreh, then we can pray “Sarosh Baaj Kemna Mazda” Kusti Prayers. That is pray Kemna Mazda Kusti followed by Sarosh Baaj. Regarding Kusti Padiyav in “Saddar e Bundaheshne” Baab 85 it is mentioned :- Pray one Ashem and then wash your face, hands, feet, and wipe it dry with a hankerchief or towel.

To sum up “Nirang e Kemna Mazda” consists of plain Kemna Mazda Kusti and for further maintaining strong balance Putman of our Khoreh can pray Sarosh Baaj kemna Mazda, that is pray Kemna Mazda kusti prayers and then recite Sarosh Baaj.

During course of our day to day affairs that we have to handle on daily basis when we come in contact with Juddin non Parsee friends, we can pray Kemna Mazda kusti, no harm in that, but if we want to pray further then we have to pray definitely Sarosh baaj after Kemna Mazda Kusti prayers that is “Sarosh Baaj Kemna Mazda” Kusti Prayers and then continue with other prayers. Kadmi’s kusti prayers is slightly different from our’s, and their Kusti has Sarosh Baaj kusti in their kusti. Some of the Kadmis wrongly believed that if they do their Sarosh Baaj Kemna Kusti prayers then there is no need to do Sarosh Baaj again but that is incorrect and they have to do Sarosh baaj again after their Kadmi Kusti. Presently Mulla Phiroze Kadmis does it that way, whereas Kadmis of Surat whatever Kusti they do they unfailingly pray Sarosh Baaj after Kusti.

Over here Kusti Padiyav consists of 2 Nirangs that 1) Kemna Mazda Nirang as well as 2) Nirang e Kusti Bastan which is nothing else but our Hormazda Khodai prayers. Here in India Shahenshahi tola pray only Kemna Mazda kusti but when they pray further they do pray Sarosh Baaj after it, but in Iran Kadmis does their Kadmi “Sarosh Baaj Kemna Mazda” Kusti Prayers but when they pray further they do not take trouble of praying Sarosh Baaj after it. (For those who want to know real significance of doing Sarosh Baaj should refer explanation by Dr Saheb Faramroze Chiniwala in his Khordeh Avesta Ba Khshnoom Book Page No 97.)

Very briefly the explanation is given below:-

As Shakespeare says all the world’s a stage and we are its’ actors. We perform our part or role in a play and get on with life. Besides physical death is not be all and end of everything it is merely a transitionary stage from physical world to many Spiritual worlds where we learn our individual lessons well. As said in Bible “In my Father’s house there are many Mansions”. In our life experience is a good teacher, and different situations that we come across in our life is not by accident but it has its own purpose of a lesson to be learnt by us.
Quoting Shakespeare again "There is some soul of goodness in things evil; Would man diligently try it to distill?" In our journey to perfection we have to endure many reincarnations and we learn a lesson step by step. Whatever lessons we have learnt, we have earned it well and will never forget. Thus we proceed step by step to perfection. In one’s life time we reincarnate we do not go empty handed and we benefit even a little bit from lessons learnt in one’s life time. These are our earnings or our treasure we have to keep it secured and is called as Saroshem ni Gati. In Khshnoomic parlance 5 senses holding Saroshem ni Gati is called as “Panj e Zarvikesh e Batein” also called as 5 divine senses that we have earned in our total reincarnations till now.

Our individual Panj e Zarvikesh e Batein or many reincarnation earnings is stored somewhere near our pineal gland right at top of our head or crowning glory. The need to cover our head all the time is to nourish Panj e Zarvikesh e Batein and to protect it from atmospheric friction with our hair and thus minimize bad heat known as “Tafoon”. But in our physical life it is our physical 5 senses also known in Khshnoomic parlance as “Panj e Zarvikesh e Zaher” that provides us with worldly senses and temptations which repel us in another direction taking us away from our natural affinity towards divine Panj e Zarvikesh e Batein. Numerically no 5 is divine number signifying complete obedience and in service to Ahu. That is work done by Sarosh Yazad. And it is these 5 divine senses also known as Panj e Zarvikesh e Batein that comes under jurisdiction of Sarosh Yazad, and also called as sarosh ni Gati. Depending upon Saroshem Gati earned by the soul the consciousness of individual much depends upon it. Likewise it establishes contact with God head known as “Dharam no Baap”. We have to bind our passions and seas of 5 earthly senses “Panj e Zarvikesh e Zaher” to seas of 5 divine senses of “Panj e Zarvikesh e Batein” which will establish higher contact with souls who have already achieved their salvation and are known as “Dharam no Baap” who will gives us timely guidance by prick of conscience every time our 5 earthly senses tempt us with temptations, thereby building Kherad. The small prayer of Sarosh Baaj helps us in achieving this objective.

Kadmi Kusti

The Kadmis does their Sarosh Baaj Kemna Mazda” Kusti Prayers in a particular way and can be referred from any Kadmi Khordeh avesta book and is as under:- As they proceed Sarosh Baaj they do not pray big Sarosh Khshnooman and pray right till end of sarosh Baaj and then they do Nirang e Kusti Bastan that is Hormazda Khodai and then end up their Kusti with a Jasmeh Avengeh Mazda Mazdiiyasno ahmi…….

3) Sarosh ni Kshnuman Kusti Prayers.

Ustad Saheb Behramshah Nowroji Shroff has done our community a great service and has passed to us a gift of Sarosh ni Kusti through (Toofel) watchful guidance from his Ustads of Demavand Koh hidden from us.
By praying Sarosh ni kusti or as it is called Sarosh ni Khshnooman Kusti Prayers the above mention balance or “Putman” can be easily maintained by us. This type of Kusti is specially meant to be performed especially when we have in our midst “Vahizki Fasal Pavmahal”. But in today’s times we have in our midst “Shahenshahi Hushmurdi Amal” Pavmahal, a sincere Bastekustian who wants to adhere to all given tarikaats can follow and practice Sarosh ni khsnooman kusti. The compilation of Sarosh ni Kusti have same principle on which Niyaesh and Yasht prayers are based upon. Before we pray Niyaesh and Yasht prayers there is Khsnuman of that Particular Yazad. Similarly in Sarosh ni Kusti we have big as well as small Sarosh ni Khsnuman. Now we see how exactly Sarosh ni kusti is done.

First pray Kshnaothra ahura Mazda ashem 3.

Sarosh ni Baaj Kemna Mazda sathe akhee levi

That is pray from Sarosh Baaj the para that begins with:-

Fravaraneh Mazda yasno Zaratthustris veedaevo ahura takesho then recite whatever Geh is required then big as well small Sarosh ni Khsnuman … uptil …… ahunem vairim Tanum paiti and Yatha 1.

Then full kemna Mazda ….. ejacha ashem 1.Then untie kusti after this and pray full Hormuzda Khodai ……., then tie kusti knots on our waist whilst reciting 2 yatha and 1 ashem, first in front (2 yatha) and then behind (1 ashem)

Then full Jasmeh avengeh Mazda Mazdayasna Ahmi Mazdayasna Zarathustrish ……………………………… Mazdayasnoish Astuetish ashem 1.

Sarosh ni Baaj bae(2) yatha yasnemcha thee Mukvi

Then pray 2 Yatha. And Yasnemcha Vahmemecha Ojascha Zavarehcha afrinami, saroshe asyahe, takhmeh tanu mathrahe………….ahuryahe. ashem 1. Ahmai Rashcha - Hajangaram - Jasmeh avengeh Mazda - Kerfeh Mozda and end with 1 Ashem.

For detailed Sarosh ni Kusti with Mithra by Late Banoobai Kekushru Mody refer to the pdf file in the link provided :- http://kiwi6.com/file/68mxp6843v

The above mentioned Sarosh ni Kusti is naturally so very much beneficial to us that we tend to have affinity to it once we have done it and continue doing it again and again. By performing this Sarosh ni Kusti our Khoreh is preserved very efficiently. If one of family members is doing this Sarosh ni Kusti regularly then the beneficial effects of this Kusti is passed on to other family members also, even though they may not be performing sarosh ni kusti themselves. The other family members in the house not performing Sarosh ni Kusti get benefitted in such a way that even the balance or “Putman” of their Khoreh is well maintained or attuned with others. That is true meaning of “Hamkalam”. “Hamkalam” means the Khoreh of all other family members gets adjusted as per their individual capacity and gets equally balanced as per their individual Putman. Obviously the family member who is performing this Sarosh ni Kusti himself gets benefitted, besides those members not performing this type of Kusti benefits as per their individual capacity and Putman or balance as applicable to him/ her. If one person is doing one type of kusti and other doing other type in a family, these three types of Kusti can be performed by being a “Marefat” or a medium to one another, in a sense that one becomes a “Jyoti” while other becomes a “Rathvi”. “Jyoti” and “Rathvi” are terms used for two individuals performing same Kriya or Yasna ceremony in partnership to one another. Sarosh ni Kusti is a gift to our community from “Magumards” or hidden Masters of Demavand and given to us through “Marefat” of Ustad saheb Behramshah N.Shroff. Besides the Kemna Mazda Kusti or Nirang e Kemna Mazda Kusti that others are following is not technically wrong and can be followed by those who are comfortable with it. They are all technically correct and only differs in degree of potency applicable to one another.

From the above article we can conclude the true significance and real meaning of 1) Nirang e Kemna Mazda or 2) Nirang e Kusti Bastan or 3) Padiyav Sajeshneh. Writing, saying or printing without knowing the deep import of these three words is equivalent to spreading confusion amongst faithful followers of our Deen. Our Deen has 1001 channels and entrances to it, entering into any one of those doors much depends up to individual’s capacity and the effort put forth by the individual only.

With Best wishes,

Firdosh K. Sukhia

DESTINY vs. FREE WILL

[It is said that man is ruled by his destiny. Then why is it that when an individual achieves success he says that it is by his hard work and application? Shri Siavux Madon raises this issue in 'Parsi Avaz’ of 27-10-1968 and the editor Shri Jehangir Chiniwalla answers in his inimitable way with the help of Ilm-e-Kshnoom which is both educative and thought provoking for people like us. What follows is a translation in English by Minoo lrani from the original article in Gujeratl.]

Respected Editor,
Parsi Avaz.

An issue having importance from scientific angle has arisen recently. It is a question whether Astrology is an art or subject of science. Are our lives ruled by destiny or it is within our power to alter the course of our future? This question has engaged the mind of rational thinking man since times immemorial and has been debated eternally but no satisfactory and conclusive answer has been given either by astrologers, students of science or those who claim to be experts in human psychology metaphysics and allied subjects. Man claims that he is the master of his destiny and can control the course of his life as he wills, and refuses to accept that there are powers beyond his control who have set and are influencing the course and events of his life.lt is this expression of arrogance which is evident when we hear someone say that "See, how my use of intelligence and efforts have rewarded me. One can achieve anything he wants only if he wills and works for it." But let something go wrong or let some calamity befall him and he will be the first to blame God for his misfortunes. Therefore the question arises as to how to distinguish between what man achieves by his own efforts and what destiny bestows on him? Is there a distinct line of separation between the two? I personally do not think that the two can be clearly distinguished because the degree of his success or failure depends upon the circumstances under which he has attempted the task.

If a person becomes a leader or occupies a high office or becomes the head of a state, people will applaud and say that he had worked for it and achieved it by his toil, sweat and money and not anybody can do so. But when the same person dies the same people will say that "It was God's Will." Those who had contested the elections but lost will say that "one has to be very fortunate to become a prime minister. Thus perceptions and opinions change. Some give credit to the person while others call it his good fortune when he becomes the prime minister but all will be unanimous in calling his death as an "act of God".
If your good self would like to know my personal opinion, I must say that it is pure destiny which bestows good or bad fortune on a man according to the deeds of his past lives, because if it is not willed by God, no matter however much he exerts, he will not only not be able to achieve his objective but even suitable circumstances or opportunity will not arise in his life.
Astrologers who are supposed to be giving prognosis by reading the life chart cannot keep themselves from expressing their opinion when an incident occurs which defies their knowledge of astrology. A case in point is that of a famous American astrologer Mrs. Dickson who had said that "I had premonition whilst predicting the murder of John Kennedy but I had no such intuition in advance in the case of Bobby Kennedy's death. lf Bobby Kennedy would have avoided the circumstances , he would have been alive today."This opinion of Mrs. Dickson was also echoed by famous Indian astrologers Shri Ajanta Jain and Shrimati lndumati Pandit. Thus these astrologers seem to be leaning on both sides and are not firm in their opinion. You sir are reputed 'to be having good knowledge of the subject will be able to throw more light. Here there is a clash of destiny and man's will. In one case they are saying that it was destiny which led John Kennedy to his death whereas in the case of Robert Kennedy they are implying that he was not careful enough and did not use his intelligence to avoid the circumstances under which he was murdered by a gunman. Should these opinions be taken to be contradictory and can we just let go and take them as opinions of experts without debating it?
Some clarification has been given in the past issues of 'Parsi Avaz' However I earnestly request your good self to once again explain from both astrological and Kshnoomic point of view. Can destiny be altered? How far can free will and intelligence of a man help in changing the effects of the weak planets in his birth chart? Is death due to suicide, accident, murder or by wounds caused by weapons to be taken as one's fate? If such death is predetermined by Nature then why does the soul of such a person undergo traumatic experiences after death? How far does the above theory of self will in one case and destiny in another justified? Please explain.

Reply of Shri J. S. Chiniwala, Editor - Parsi Avaz.
Note : Brother Siavux Madon is very learned and comes from a respected family. This young man from the lineage of athornans of Navsari holds university degrees of BA, MA, LLB and possesses keen sense of learning and intelligence, He is also an earnest student of ilme-khshnoom. His innate wisdom, university education and deep study of the scriptures of Zoroastrian religion has developed in this young athornan complete faith and devotion for ilme-khshnoom and is so much enchanted by its music that if he wills he can develop virtues of patience and forbearance of Armaity in this life itself and pave his way towards spiritual progress which will help him to face and surmount the vicissitudes of life and lead a peaceful life.

I know Siavux's father, grandfather and grand uncle from my childhood. Ervad Pallonji Madon and Ervad Dinshaji Madon of D. P. Madon and Co. were close friends of my father, uncle and grandfather who were running business in Kanpith Bazaar of Surat. Such a young man having scholarly bent of mind coming from a renowned family has sent the above query and seeks an answer.

Most of the knowledge of astrology available with us today is taken from the extant scriptures of Hindu religion. Ilm-e-Zafar also known as Jame Jahanuma is the knowledge of the seven great epochs of time from Past of the Past to the Remotest Future. It was contained in the second group of seven Nasks called Datic Nasks and the third seven Nasks called Had-Mathric Nasks of the 21 Nasks prepared by Zarathushtra: The former dealt with various laws their usefulneess and application in life whilst the latter contained the knowledge concerning various illnesses affecting body mind and soul of man and their remedies. This has been told by Behramshaji. In the Vedic scriptures of the Hindus, astrology is referred to as the Eyes of Gods, Its parallel is to be found in Zorastrian religion where Khorshed and Meher are taken as the eyes of Ahuramazda.

It is necessary to have knowledge of Cosmogenesis to understand astronomy and astrology. Mazdayasni Zarathosti Din teaches that the Cosmos is made of Divine or Minoi world of endless lights comprising of 9th and 8th heavens both encompassing the entire universe. Next is the Hasti or Immortal universe comprising of seven concentric heavens which are revolving in the cosmic space also known as Jirmani Alam so called because they contain the seeds of the Jirum or Genera of souls to be classified. Each of these heavens has its own fire energy working in it and presided by a planet. Next comes Arvahi Alam an unseen but mortal universe lastly followed by Jismani Alam (Jism=body) the physical mortal temporal universe which is made of elemental matter and can be perceived. Our globe is located in this universe.

What is called Bhachakra in Gujerati or Zodiac in English has four grades. The original Zodiac is located in the 8th heaven and the stars appearing therein are the manifestation of the emancipated Ruwans called Yazatas. They are divine immortal beings. The cause of the sun that we see and many other suns of Nisti is Havare the Sun a Yazata in Keherpic form located in the 4th heaven of Jirmani Alam. Similarly the other planets are also Yazatic beings. The 4th Zodiac which is of the lowest grade and shadow of the original, forms the starry vault of our world. The stars located in this zodiac are made of elemental matter which the astrologers claim to see but that is not so. The zodiac has 12 signs and 27 constellations. Innumerable stars shining inside the keherpic forms of some of these 27 constellations are the emancipated counterpart Ruwans of those taking birth on earth working to achieve salvation. There is a corresponding star for each soul taking birth on earth.

It is the life force called Ushtan which sustains life of man. This munificent energy of Ushtanemanates from these stars and descends on earth entering the breath of each man without him being conscious of it. Two types of energies emanate from the stars located in this 4th elemental zodiac. Zorastrian reiigion teaches that some of the energies descend at their appointed time -'Parundi', bringing down Nature's bounty 'Niroi' which manifest as what is known to us as Gaharnbars. Cyclic seasons appearing on earth each bringing forth different powers of growth with its characteristic essence are due to these munificent bountiful energies of Nature. Besides these, certain other energies containing the seeds of Kesas or destiny apropos to each individual commonly known as 'The effects of the planets' also descend on earth.
These energies first enter the Keherp the ultra physical body of man through his breath. They then affect the mind. The thoughts of a person are thus influenced either for good or bad depending upon the benign or malignant aspects of the planets arranged according to his destiny. The person then leads either a righteous life or commits sins. This is a very short and simplified explanation leaving aside many difficult to understand issues provided by yours truly.
The physical body is kept alive and the maneuvers of the mind giving man either pleasant or painful experiences in life are due 'to the electro magnetic energy emanating from his ultra physical body Keherp. Keherp is a generic name given to three envelopes of the ultra physical body known as Ushtan Aap, Tevishi and Keherp. There are 16 revolving circles of energy located in Keherp known as Chakras in Avesta. They are formed of highly refined matter finer even than ether invisible to the human eye. Activities taking place In the microcosm of human body are due to the energy flowing out of these 16 chakras. If these chakras revolve in unision ,and in consonance with Nature then good results are produced but when they revolve in erratic fashion then harmful results are produced. The results of good or bad aspects of the planets descending upon an individual arranged in his birth chart according to his Kesas, effect the motion of the chakras.

What is known as Dradh Prarabdh (Immutable destiny)by the Hindus is known as Tabai in Ilm-e-Kshnoom. Earthly life of a man is determined by the nature of the earthly deeds of his past life. This is known as destiny of man. His behaviour in life is determined by Tabai and his deeds, words and thoughts are collectively known as Kaar according to Ilm-e-Kshnoom.
A man leads his life according to Tabai but there are two aspects in every man's life-one of which is that prompted by his Tabai and cannot be altered. It is known as Tabai-e-Kaar. His earthly parents, siblings, wife, children, relatives are predestined and fall under this category.Certain portion of Tabai-o-Kaar which descends upon man as his punishment can be altered to some degree. For example an Ashavan or a holy man can reduce the evil effects of the planets of his protégé by one third. Similarly if a man follows the promptings of his conscience and leads life according to moral law and observes the prescribed canons of holiness, then too he can avert the evil influence of his planetary aspect to some extent.

Universal truth is that Nature does not forgive and there is no escaping the retribution of the actions of our past lives. The joys and sorrows, pleasure and pain, the good and bad experiences of life are a result of the electro magnetic energy produced by the motion of Chakras 5 to 8, 11th and 12 to16 which influences our maneuvers of life. The first four chakras of keherp are the collection centres of the results of good deeds earned by man over a period of his past lives under the protection of Sarosh Yazata. These chakras are also the seat of consciousness of man governed by the five hidden senses called Panj-e-zarviksh--e-baaten by which he can discern between right and wrong. These four chakras act like the mirror of the mind which reflects his thoughts helping him to realize and instinctively understand what is in tune with and what is contrary to the Laws of Nature. Chakra nos. 1 to 4 have a close relationship with Chakra no.10 the seat of conscience. All thoughts originating from the mind are scrutinized by conscience who sends a warning when a sin is about to be committed.

When the malignant effects of the planetary aspects descend on man, he commits a wrong. The vibrations produced by the act are caught by the conscience seated in the 10th chakra. Chakra no. 8 rules over the tongue and the ninth chakra rules over the throat specifically over the mechanism which produces sound. When the conscience comes to know that something wrong has been done, it telephones the mind asking it to begin atoning. If the mind obeys, then natural vibrations of the good kind called Gav are produced. So also if man announces whatever transpires through his mind, it will hurt him at first and create a sense of repugnance but subsequently the burden will be lifted from his conscience and he will feel light and free. If a man performs this exercise regularly, it will gradually give him courage to speak the truth and put him on the path of spiritual progress. Thus speaking truth for the sake of truth is the basic discipline a man is required to practice if he wants to evolve spiritually. He will slowly develop in his character virtues like humility and forbearance. Nature will take note of his efforts and put him on the path to follow the tenets of religion and create conditions whereby he can observe ,the rules of maintaining purity. His personal god called Khoda will automatically guide him and inspire him to become religious minded, when he will begin to recite prayers regularly.

None can change the events brought about by Tabai or Drudh Prarabdh. There is a Persian Saying : "Boodaai Bood Khuahad Bood" - Meaning : whatever is destined will transpire. Man can use his free will and self exertion only to speak the truth and atone from the bottom of his heart for the wrongs committed sincerely promising himself not to repeat them. This is the only and powerful tool provided to him by which he can change his destiny to a certain extent. By nature man is sinful so he is bound to commit sins but if he undertakes, the abovementioned spiritual exercise constantly, it will sharpen his voice ot conscience and will gain control over the faults of flesh in course of time. The force of retribution will greatly reduce and he will escape with a lighter punishment by the grace of his Khoda who has the authority to do so as per the Natural law of Limit and Justice.

Life is the most precious gift given to man by God. As long as the current of life is flowing through his body he lives. The length of life is determined by the number of breaths. A righteous man who practices Meher-Patet can preserve his breaths in a certain way. Nature bestows upon such a man this faculty. His moral character and behavior changes for the better. His conscience becomes so sensitive that when the force of Tabai descends upon him it cries and saves him from committing the wrong.

Desire of the questioner to get answer to his querry by applying the Imowledge of astrology will be satisfied by the above clarification based on the philosophy of Ilm-e-Kshnoom. Astrological charts of man are to be used to find out his weaknesses and improve .them by self will. Using one's free will means to speak out the truth, announce the evil working of the mind, atone for the wrong done, lead life according to the teachings of the religion, observing fhe laws of purity in day to day life, and reciting prayers daily. Lord Ahuramazda who is the creator of the universe has appointed for each one of us a Divine guide called Khoda who accompanies our soul till it achieves salvation. Khoda has been granted authority by Ahuramazda to mould the destiny of each man during life on earth and give him the benefits of the rightful use of free will.
When man has successfully removed all the iniquities from his physical body, his Ruvan or soul becomes one with his Khoda. This is the first step towards achieving salvation. What is known by the Hindus as Brahamashmi or An- al Haq by the Muslims is this condition of the soul and not what is believed as that of Merging with the Creator.

University education of science and the various disciplines of Arts cannot provide explanation on spiritual matters. Astrology can provide a key to understand the working of Nature. The soul residing in man has a certain amount of deficiency in its light. To remove this deficiency and gain its original refulgence, it has to take births on this earth adopting different physical envelopes. One fourth of the original deficiency which is yet to be removed is woven into the elemental matter and form the physical body. Other three parts are already redeemed and forms the three envelopes of the ultra physical body. They are altruistic by nature and sacrificing their own salvation for the sake of the one fourth unimproved part accompanying the soul till this one fourth part is redeemed, They are in constant association with Mother Nature gathering the munificence raining down from the higher cosmos. This munificence is conducted to the Jaan circuit in the physical body and keeps it alive. Our physical body is composed of innumerable cells which are made of elemental matter having mixture of Gav and Druj in certain proportion. This proportion is justly determined by Nature depending upon the deeds of our past lives. Whatever we have desired in our previous birth is given by our Khoda in this life. If they were righteous, then our present body composition and disposition of the mind will be such that we will lead our life along a path which will help 'our soul to advance but if they were to the contrary then we will face troubles and woes during our existence on earth. This is a punishment we have to undergo for sowing the seeds of iniquities in the past. Thus we get what we have asked for. All this happens according to the principle of Asha working throughout the universe
Different aspects of a person's life can be found out from the planetary positions in a person's horoscope only bv a seer who has highly developed third eye To take up astrology as a business or profession is prohibited by Hindu scriptures. Those whom we see today sitting by roadside foretelling future by reading horoscopes or even those who sustain themselves on run of the mill astrology for lack of better profession are doing so because it is in their destiny. Those who know that astrology is a divine science which helps to find out the present stage of evolution of a person's soul from the arrangement of the planets in his chart and how the various aspects of his present life are arranged which will carry his soul either on the road to progress or retardation will not readily reveal these secrets and even if they do so under exceptional circumstances will not accept money or gifts in return.

Ustad Behramshahji knew the method of prediction practiced by the astrologers of ancient Iran. He could tell from the charts the planets which are powerful and benefit the person in various aspects of life such as longevity, ability to do charitable deeds, amount of wealth he will posses and whether by rightful or crooked means according to his destiny, the amount of worldly and spiritual knowledge, his reputation and social status, his health etc. These are predetermined and quantified by his Khoda in accordance to his Kesas obeying the Law of Limit and Justice. If as a result of his bad fate he commits a sin but practices Meher-Patet he can reduce the burden and build a brighter future.

Definition of sin is very clear. If a man leads his life obeying natural laws technically termed Maglub bin Tabe in kshnoom, then no sin is committed but if his maneuvers in life are such that they oppose, disobey or grossly mutilate the laws of Nature (as is done in the world today) termed as Galeb bin Tabe, then he is sinning against Nature. By such acts, Staotic vibrations are produced which gather as formulations in the higher atmosphere of cosmos where they attract the dark forces of Nature who hatch them forming clouds which when becomes sufficiently heavy, rains down on earth bringing calamities in the form of floods, epidemics, earthquakes, fires, wars etc. Similarly an individual also has to bear the misfortunes because he had disobeyed some law of Nature in the past. Suicidal death is one such example. By leading a righteous and religious life man can slow down the rate of his breaths, and prolong the moment of his death to some extent. There is Divine power in astrology and absolute justice in whatever Nature does. This philosophy can be understood with the help of Zarthosti Ilm-e-Kshnoom. It is necessary and very important to have a clear understanding of the terms Tabai (immutable destiny), Kaar ( acts of life determined by destiny) and Felmukhtiari (Free Will of man and his efforts) explained in Ilm-e-kshnoom.

Evil Eye or Nazar

Do we brush aside Evil Eye or Nazar as just another superstition or is there any Scientific truth behind its belief ?

Zarathosti Daen and its Raaz can be understood with only one instrument - The Key of Ilme Khshnoom

by Savak Sheriyarji Madan

There is a common belief that a child becomes ill due to Nazar of another person or Evil eye. Also there is custom of applying black spot (Mesh) near eye of a small child to ward off evil effects of Nazar. Also a child is taught not to eat eatables in front of others. But this not mere discipline or etiquette that is taught to the child but is a precaution and a preventive measure to ward off evil eye or Nazar of others. Also there is a belief that if a child is very attractive bubbling with innocence than there is fear of Nazar befalling upon delicate psyche of a small innocent child from even his/her own mother. Is all these mere superstition or is there any scientific reason behind this belief.

As per ilme Khshnoom those beliefs cannot be brushed aside as mere superstition but are based on natural laws operating in nature. A true seeker of truth will never mock it off as mere superstition. Avan yasht and Avan Niyaesh are avesta prayers.Avan Ardavisur banu is a Yazad presiding over natural element of water so very much essential for any life to survive on this earth. The water that we see is composed of 2 molecules of hydrogen and one molecule of oxygen i.e. H2O, but in these apparent water that we see there are many things not known to us that is explained.

Any work that is done in Hasti by a Yazad is called as "Humata". The work or functioning of a yazad in Nisti is called as "Hukhata", and functions of a yazad in this Geti or our earth is called as "Havrashta". The Havarashta of water and its nature is presided by Khordad Ameshaspand.

Three fourth of Earth is composed of water. Water has 81 types of Khastar or electricity and 6 types of magnetic energies. The water that we see with our eyes is the last basest and grossest form of flowing Khakh. As per Khshnoom as mentioned in Avan Niyaesh the name of" Zantu Frado" is missing in our present Khordeh Avesta books mentioning only 5 Frados. As per late Ervad saheb Eruchshaw Edulji Karkaria possesed an old manuscript by him which gave ample evidence and supported what Khshnoom has to say about one more Frado called as Zantu Frado. Please refer Parsee Avaz dated 8th August 1954 for further details of Zantu Frado.

As said before water is under Jurisdiction of Khordad Ameshaspand right from Minoi to Khakhi water that we see. The water that we see is known as Ab e Rava e Duvvam or second grade of water. Its origin is from 5 Frados known as 1) Adu Frado 2) Vathvo Frado 3) Gaetho Frado 4) Khsaeto Frado and 5) Dahangu Frado. The origin of these 5 Frados is from Zantu Frado. Above Zantu Frado there are 3 more Minoi Frados that exists. The five Frados that emanates from Zantu Frado one of them being known as Vathvo Frado is what we are interested in for understanding our topic of Nazar. The literal meaning of Vathvo Frado is that frado which brings prosperity to a group or Tola. This Frado exists in all human beings and it originates from the eyes, and one can attract other person making use of one's eye. If that Vathvo Frado is very strong than it can attract a group of persons or it can attract even a huge crowd. The magnetic attraction from the eyes can be of hatred or love.

Khshnoom further says that this Vathvo Frado emanates with a greater potency from a women than from a Man. That is why a women can sexually attract and charm a man through her eyes and Vathvo Frado plays an important role. The old Tarikaats that was practiced women used to wear a Net in front of her eyes known as Nikab due to which strength of Vathvo Frado reduces.

What we call as Evil eye is not superstition but bad or evil thoughts can be transported by vathvo frado through our eyes. An evil Black magician can spread his evil dragnet using his evil spell of Adh Manthra making use of vehicle of Vathvo Frado through his eyes, and thus cause harm to his victim. In Mesmerism or Hypnotism they make use of this Frado only. But a man with strong will power cannot be harmed by a Hypnotist. One should not misinterpret from the above explanation that there is any deliberate attempt to deride or degrade women folk in general, but what is explained here is through religious view point of ilmiyat or us trying to unravel the laws of nature.

A Sanskrit literature book also mentions as under:-
"Bhojane Dvigunastrinabudhi: krutya chaturguna Nishchay: shadgunpubhya:kamveg stathathaya:"

A women has twice the capacity than a man for intake of food, four times the capacity to work, seven times the capacity than a man in being steadfast and unwavering and eight times sensuous and passionate than a man.

That a practical anecdote will suffice to confirm the above statement. Napoleon Bonaparte under whose sway and influence whole of Europe was, knew the power Napoleon possessed as a leader with Military skill. Napoleon once tormented intelligence officer in charge of CID or secret agents that he was not doing a good job as a spy is supposed to keep a watch on enemy within and obtain top secret information. The intelligence officer retorted back about Napoleon’s whereabouts at 11 O’clock the night before and the company he kept with a lady with questionable reputation. Napoleon was flabbergasted and was at loss of words before his intelligence officer, because he knew the truth himself.

What has to be noted here is that a man with a strong powerful disposition and will power can be influenced by a passionate women, and the seat of magnetic attraction that draws a man towards a women is through her eyes. The cupid arrow darting a meaningful glances from a women is enough to destabilize even a strong willed man and make him morally weak. Even an Ashwan of three karsh who is on path of Ashoi can fall prey to powers of a woman. (But his Guru rescues him at the nick of time - FKS's note)

The book by the name "The key of Power" by J Abbott B.A. I.C.S. has touched topics of Mesmerism and Hypnotism in his book, and the key of power is through the eyes.

Other references are:- 1) Hypnotic Power - By Colin Benett 2) Vashikarana Fantra by Swami Premanand

Eyes are window of the Soul and from it Positive or negative vibes emanates depending on Manashni of that person, and likewise it spreads its effects to the surrounding atmosphere. Love at first sight is a phrase we often use it and there is lot of truth in it. In "The Aryan Path" August 1938 Volume Mr. P. Pingle writes as below:-

" A man may emanate an evil influence through his various sense organs and his extremities, but the evil transmitted by the eye is most portent and dangerous".
The evil that is transmitted by the eye is further elaborated by Rallo Ahmed an Egyptian in his book "The Black Art". Further reference is available from old Chirag Magazine October 1939 Page 480-481.

P.S.:- Late Ervad Phiroze Shapurji Masani has written a book on Nirangs and it efficacies. It's name is “Pazend Nirang Ba Maeni”. In that book we can find Nirang for mitigating effects of evil eye on Page No 68. It is the fifth Nirang of third group of Nirangs. This Nirang is especially effective for small impressionable child being of sensitive passive temperament that fall easy prey to evil effects of Evil eye. This Nirang in addition to it being prayed, can also be worn on left arm of a child in form of Amulet or Taviz. Of course, if the child is too small, the Nirang can be prayed by Parents. Care taken to make Amulet with Ashoi Parezgari.

Besides, this same Nirang can also be found in "Bhali Murad Echvani Ejmati Nirango" of Union Press Page 132 to 134. It is the reprint of same Nirang as mentioned above for protection from Evil Eye.

Spiritual Intelligence and how to develop it by Ashoi ( Zoroastrian Yoga) - Part 5

Nafeh Bavra

By following Druj Parhej Tarikaats our physical body made up of 4 elements or Anasar starts becoming subtle our Khoreh develops by us introducing Avesta manthra in it, and we attune ourselves with nature and the means to achieve it is through our Gireban of our Sudreh which is an Alaat by itself.

When we start observing the strict laws of Mithra+Manthra+Keshash+Khoreh+Ashoi a Bastekustian Zarathusti starts developing powers 1) Aeryaman 2) Saok 3) Ashi who in turn starts recognizing its fravashi and the power within it. With his Roshan Zameer or illumined mind he begins to understand and grasp the laws of nature by himself which till now was unable to do so. He can read inner thoughts of other persons, and gets intuitive guidance from nature in advance. He starts hearing divine Naad of nature, or the “Music of the Spheres”, and can leave his physical body at his own will which is called as "Khalleh Badan" which today’s world recognizes as Out of Body Experience or O.B.E.

When such changes occurs within a Bastekustian than a shield or fortress surrounding his physical body is formed which is called in Avesta as "Napatem Bavrahe" and in Pahalvi is called as "Nafeh Bavra". In Avan Yasht it is called as "Bavrahe". Every Bastekustian Zarathusti should thrive to attain this goal of developing his Nafeh Bavra powers. Naf = Navel= centre; butt and Bavra= shield = defense. This shield of Nafeh Bavra if developed properly can protect oneself from a evil sorcerer or from clutches of Satan (counteracting evil "Aeshma Khravi- Draosh" with a shield of "Darshi- Draosh").

In nature Nafeh Bavra is the weapon of Avan Yazad and in Avan Yasht kardo 30 it has been said in Ramz and mentioned that Avan Yazad relentlessly fights its battles against Gehnamino and thereby protects this universe from his evil clutches. Our Paigambar Saheb himself possessed these powers of Nafeh-Bavra and faced most terrible Devs (Demons), Sorcerers, and destroyed them.

Due to this remarkable weapon known as Nafeh Bavra that is in our Zarathosti deen it is called as Daene Barejisht = The most exalted Daen. For developing this power of Nafeh Bavra there are 8 stages. The Mithra of Nafeh Bavra is depicted in our Sudreh as the screen or back portion of our Sudreh.

As per Zarathosti Daen the visible evolution of this universe is Elemental or Anasari in nature, and are mortal i.e. prone to destruction where mind also plays its role upto a certain extent. That mind is separate from the physical body or Tanu, and is known as per Avesta as Keherp- Ushtan- Tevishi (Ultra Physical body), but the other divine bodies within us is composed of Ruvan- Baod- Farohar are not elemental or Anasari in nature but belong to the Khathra or Noori in nature, which are immortal, not bounded by Time and Space. Our Anasaari universe is bounded by Time and Space, where as Divine bodies are Noorie and not bounded by Time and Space. By following tarikaats of Druj Parhej and following other tenets we assimilate our own Anasars which are scattered in Animal, Vegetable and Mineral Kingdom to become whole or complete. But if we lead a life of a Dravand than we assimilate Anasars that do not belong to us and this causes friction, Druji and disorder due to which Passions are aroused in us. The very nature of Anasar is to get attracted to one another

Our visible Physical body is made up of atoms- Cells- Molecules- Protoplasm (oily Substance) which are visible by scientific gadgets but what cannot be seen by any scientific gadget is the 4 elements known as Anasar from which body is made. These anasaars are prone to destruction

Spiritual Intelligence and how to develop it by Ashoi ( Zoroastrian Yoga) - Part 4

Mithra, Manthra, Yasna

The under mentioned article has been written in a condensed form from the Magnum Opus Master piece Book "Khordeh Avesta Ba Kshnoom" written by Dr. Faramroz S. Chiniwala Pages 5 to 20. I have tried to correlate his works ( Dr. Saheb's) with that of Shakespeare, because truth is truth after all, and we can have a glimse of it in every masterpiece of Literature, or in our time tested eternal truths as mentioned in our religion, and as expounded by Dr Saheb Faramroz Sohrabji Chiniwala. Surely Dr Saheb F.S.Chiniwala's Khordeh Avesta Ba Kshnoom written in Gujarati is worth its weight in gold and is must for every true student of our noble religion. Even if we have to learn Gujarati from scratch, the efforts are worth it.

Mithra, Manthra, Yasna - The inseperable bond between them

The human mind is limited and incapable of grasping the truths existing in nature. This is because there is an inheritant defect called as Dravao in him. To convert it into "Gao" this universe has been made, where man is the most enchanting manifestation formed by Dadar Ahura Mazda. This Dravao has within it a bit of Gao enmeshed in it due to which this physical life can be sustained. From the combination of Gav and Dravao the final result is known as Vohun - or material temperament which has a tendency of behaving in "Kharfastry" manner of mind inclined to ignorance or deception to self- i.e. -"Khud parasti", or "Taromaity" -i.e. ignorance, selfishness, which is opposite of Armaity

Shakespeare:-

The common curse of mankind - folly and ignorance be thine in great revenue !, heaven bless thee from a tutor, and discipline comes not near thee.
......... Troilus and Cressida – 2.3.26

Due to this short comings a human mind is always at unrest and has lots of wants and desires, likes and dislikes which is hard to fulfilled. The more you get the more we want. There is no end to greed. This shortcoming is called as "Tabaesh" or an illness. To calm our agitated mind we require an appropriate medicine or remedy to the illness. Manthra acts as a medicine and is called as "Baeshaj". In Ardibehest yasht Mantra spenta prayers is called as........ baeshajanam, baeshajayotemo, yat mantrem spentem baeshajyo...... which means Manthra is superlatively best form of spiritual healing.

Hence our not so perfect minds cannot compose our own prayers and pray in any language. A Bastekustian should pray Manthra in Avesta only with Mithra. When we start praying Avesta the static efficacy of avesta stoat actually act like medicine and tries to negate our vagrant dynamic mind which revolts by having fleeting thoughts. These negative thoughts which are hidden normally within us and remain unnoticed are challenged by efficacious stoat of avesta manthra whilst praying. This is the common problem encountered by everybody. It is not something to be afraid of, as prayers can be prayed in three different ways. Only thing we have to be careful is whilst praying we cannot make our mind vacuum and like a closed compartment block our mind from thinking as done in Hindu type of Meditation.

Ashoi Tarikats and not Meditation is meant for us Zarathostis

Many of us are under impression that there is no harm in following Hindu system of Meditation, but Meditation is not meant for us because it requires us to clear our mind or blank it off completely which is very dangerous for us Zarathostis to attempt. There are every chances of something else entering our mind, or may be some restless spirit may take charge of our mind. It may be alright for a Hindu to follow Meditation and that too under supervision of a Guru, but for us there is only one path, that of Righteousness (Ashoi); as all others are non-paths.

"Aevo pantaao yo Ashahay, veespay anyaeshaanm apantaanm"

Isn’t it apparent for us to see that what is one man’s meat may be poison for others. Meditation is a tarikat for our Hindu brothers and sisters but for us Ashoi tarikats is the only path.

The spiritual status of a Zarathusti Ruvan is very high in nature and greater the status greater are the responsibilities attached to it. A zarathusti Soul after evolving through many incarnations has come to state where in he has got within him a special quality known as "Guun e Parvar". It is a Khastar "Khathra" or electromagnetic energy in a Z soul that can transmute Druj to Gaav within our elements known as "Anasaar". Guun or Gaon means stoat or vibrations within us that always are attracted towards hasti which is immortal universe existing in nature. Parvar means that energy which nourishes (parvarish) within us. This Guun e Parvar is still in dormant state in spiritual constitution of humans of other four religions but will take much longer for them to develop it. That is why tarikaats of ashoi are given for us zarathostis and we have got everything to lose if we do not follow it owing to our developed Gune Parvar, where as there are no ashoi Tarikaats for souls of other religions as it does not make any difference to them owing to their dormant state of Gune Parvar Reference: (1). Where as in a Zarathusti Ruvan this Gune e Parvar can be developed in one life time only. That is why in Atash Niyaesh Reference: (2) it is said :-

Dayaome atash Puthra ahureh mazdao, Asu Khathrem, Asu thraitim, Asu Jitim, Pouru Khathrem, Pouru thraitim, Pouru Jitim...........

O mino Atash give me quickly ( Asu) Khathra that Khastar of Gune Parvar that can convert my Druj to Gav. That is why A Zarathosti Ruvan can in one "Thwashe" of life time only by following tarikaats of Ashoi can liberate his soul from cycle of incarnations........

Different methods of praying

To be more precise we have three ways of praying Avesta Reference:(3) and they are as under:-

1) Drenajya
2) Mur
3) Sravi Gathavya Vacha.

In Drenajya method the devotee who prays avesta like a free flowing water rivulet does so, and in a standing position without any interruption or making any swinging movements . Only one thought goes on in the mind, that may these prayers which i am praying be an offering as my service to Dadar Ahura Mazda and assist him in running the nature's machinery in whatever small way as per my humble capacity. It is OK even if we do not know the tavil of the prayers, but if after purifying our body and proper Sudreh Kushti, even a Gunehgar can obtain beneficiary effects of Avesta prayers with a certain level. It gives us 50 % benefit.

The second method of Mur is slightly different where the devotee sits in a position of "Do Zanu" i.e not sit in cross legged manner like a yogi does, but fold both legs on right side if male, and on left side if female and continues praying repetively certain number of times. This type of prayers gives us 70 % benefit.

The third method of prayers is that of Sravi Gathavya Vacha and is of highest order, by applying high degree of concentration and attuning with "the minds eye" to the almighty, understanding the meaning of each and every avesta word uttered. This gives us 100 % benefit.

If due to oversight we are careless and are unable to recite in any one of the above mentioned 3 ways than nature steps in and corrects the Kriya, and delivers it to Dadar Ahura Mazda Palace, by making necessary amends, taking care that avesta does not go in waste. Though the careless devotee has to bear karmic debt if avesta prayers are recited haphazardly .

Shakespeare:-

HAMLET
My father!--methinks I see my father.

HORATIO
Where, my lord?

HAMLET
In my mind's eye, Horatio
.................Hamlet- 1.2.185

Firdausi Tusi in his epic Shahnamah says:-

Ma Gooee- ke- Atash Parastan Boodend
Parastand-e- Pak yazdan Boodend

Translation:- "Say thou not, that they are the fire-worshippers, or idolaters. They are the worshippers of Paak holy Yazdaan, who is worthy of worship, (because Atash is the best medium through which we can pay homage to the Almighty.) "

Hence we should not get discouraged if our mind strays away whilst praying because Manthra prayers acts as medicine - Baeshasz to Tabaesha -our illness. For a medicine to have its favorable effect it takes time and we should be patient. The best way of concentration is focusing our attention on Qebla afarganyu fire flame which has got the hypnotizing effect and also stress on every avesta word uttered with right pronunciations, for fire is focal point and helps us to concentrate in front of Qebla. If at home we can pray before a divo.

Fire in Kebla room is the Alchemical pot of Gold

The consecrated fire Kebla which acts as a focal point of concentration also alchemizes our subtle druj that is why in 101 names of Dadar Ahra Mazda he is called as "Adar Kibritum",( which is the 67th name). The consecrated Atash acts as a philosophers stone called as "Paras Mani" or "Kibrit-Ahmar" and changes base metal of iron in our body to gold, whilst reciting Avesta Manthra. The reason of using 16 types of fire from iron smith, gold smith, kitchen fire etc and purifying it has got deep significance and requires separate attention to it.

What is Bandagi:- Ref: (4)

The word Bandagi has been derived from the persian word "Bandeh" meaning "Ibadat", Bhakti, devotion to the almighty.

There are three types of Prayers:-

1) Tan ni Bandagi- Prayers of body. :- Keeping our physical body and our sourrounding Aipi clean, paak.

2) Man ni Bandagi - Prayers of mind :-Trying to keep our innermost hidden thoughts true and a heart ever ready to resign to the will of god. Bearing it in our mind that what ever comes to us in form of happiness or misery is our own creation, and our salvation lies only by truthfully facing the encountered situation. Heavy emphasis is laid on speaking the Truth and nothing but the truth.

3) Ruvan ni Bandagi- Prayers for our Ruvan:- Chanting avesta prayers with its mithra, and understanding its meaning whilst praying.

Thus Bandagi can be summarized into three things which are indispensable for us Bastekustiyan Parsees

1) Meher- speaking Truth and a resigned will.
2) Druj Parhej Tarikats -keeping our aipi clean
3) Avesta Manthra prayers.

There is a saying in persian that "Bandagi do Bakht" which means by praying we can remake our second destiny or change our destiny to our advantage, such is the power of prayers.By being truthful, and enduring the difficulties with a resigned will and totally in acceptance to the almighty's will, we invite the divine mercy, and we can eradicate 2/3rd of our bad Karma. The remaining 1/3 rd Karma we can endure with a smiling face. and as the saying goes in Gujarati "Suli ni Vighan, Katey jay". In the Bible it is written "The meek and humble shall inherit the kingdom of Heaven." When we are true to our own self we realize our mistakes and make a resolution not to commit the same mistakes again. That is what is called as "Patet" or Penitence. Along with Meher Patet and Druj Parhej Tarikaats, we have to recite Avesta Mantra. When we lie and evade the challenges encountered by us we create Duz Manthra, which is opposite to good effects of Manthra, and is as good as self abuse.

Dr Saheb's Khordeh Avesta Ba Khshnoom - (K.A.B.K) Page 16 explains a very important Para repeated oft and on in every Niyaesh and Yasht as under:-

Haom yo Gav beresman, Hijvo Dangahagha, Manthracha, vachacha, shyothanacha arsukhadebyascha vaghzibyo

Shakespeare explains what is will of God:-

The means that Heaven yields
Must be embraced and not neglected;
Else, if Heaven would and we will not,
Heaven's offer we refuse,
The proferred means of succour and redress

......... Richard 2.3.2

Meaning:- We should never let go any opportunity offered by nature which gives us a chance to amend and redress ourselves, nor try to oppose the will of the god.

But Heaven hath a hand in these events,
To whose high will, we bound our calm contents

.......... Richard 2.5.2

Meaning:- Heaven's high will, is the will of "Ahunavar".

The will of heaven be done in this and all things!

...........Henry VIII, 2.1

Meaning:- Being true to oneself means coming to term with the fact that every thing happens with a reason, and there is a lesson to be learnt from every small thing. In shakespeare's play - "As you like it", the Duke's kingdom is usurped by his brother and he roams in cold jungles like Robinhood, and betrayed by his brother. When the cold winds of winter made the Duke feel the change of fortune, he would bear it, and say these cold winds which blow upon me are like true friends, they tell me my condition truly: and though they bite sharply, their tooth is nothing like so keen as that of the unkind and unthankful. In this manner the duke draw a useful lesson from everything he saw. He could find tongue in trees, books in running streams, sermons in stones, and good in everything. It all depends on how you tackle the situation. - As you like it.

Shakespeare:-

Duke :- Now my co-mates and brothers in exile, Hath not old custom made this life more sweet. Than that painted pomp ? Are not these woods more free from peril than the envious court ? here feel we not the penalt of Adam,The seasons' difference; as the icy fang, and churlish chiding of the winter's wind, which when it bites and blow upon my body, Even till i shrunk with cold, i smile and say "This is no flatery; these are councillors That feelingly persuade me what i am" Sweet are the users of adversity; which, like the toad, ugly and venomous, wears yet precious jewel in his head;

And this our life exempt from public haunt, Finds tongue in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything. I would not change it.

....... As you like it – 2.1.1- (in the forest of Arden.)

Shakespeare:-

Blow, Blow, thou winter wind ! Thou art not so unkind as man's ingratitude.Thy tooth is not so keen, because thou art not seen. Although thy breath be rude, Heigh-ho ! sing heigh-ho! unto the green holly. Most friendship is feigning, most loving mere folly. Then heigh-ho, the holly! This life is most jolly. Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky, thou dost not bite so nigh. As benefits forgot; Though thou the waters warp, Thy sting is not so sharp. As friend rememb'red not. Heigh-ho ! sing & C.

............ As you like it – 2.7.174- (in the forest of Arden.)

Bond of Manthra, Mithra and Truth

There is an inseparable bond between Manthra and Mithra as told by Dr. Faramroz S Chiniwala in his Khordeh Avesta ba Khshnoom Page 12. A prayer or Bandagi is said to be complete if the Avesta stoat of Manthra is prayed with appropriate Mithra. If we pray Atashi stoats of avesta applying appropriate Mithra than it can be compared to Sukhad, kathi, loban, spreading sweet fragrance if offered to consecrated fire. The flame of a fire can be used as medium of concentration. In other words if the seeds of Manthra, are properly nourished with waters of Mithra, we can grow a spiritual tree on firm earth of Spenta Armaity earth by tackling the daily situations by being true to own self and with Meher.

This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Shakespeare in Hamlet - 1.3.78

Batein Mithra

Character can be developed by keeping in check your Batein Mithra or inner thoughts, and side by side following Tarikaats of our deen. This is finely described by Shakespeare below:-

See thou character. Give thy thoughts no tongue,
Nor any un-proportioned thought his act.
...................Hamlet 1.3.59

Afterall what is Character ? It is nothing else but a state of mind developed by our righteous inner thoughts which is now our second nature, after practicing Ashoi tarikats, wherein we do not fall for temptations when there is nobody to warn us of perils of temptations.

How our inner thoughts "Batein Mithra" are connected with our destiny ?

Sow a thought and reap an act,
Sow an act and reap a habit,
Sow a habit and reap a Character,
Sow a Character and reap a Destiny.
...... Thackeray (an englishman)

Covering our head with a Head Gear(ScullCap/scarf) - or Sar bandi

Last but not the least in Zarathusti Yoga the upper four chakras has to be developed first, and the first step in developing our first Chakra or the crowning glory of our scalp is to keep our head covered all the time with 2 layered Scullcap of cotton only. This is a very important tarikat although I have mentioned it in the end, but this tarikat is indispensable for us Zarathostis.

Dill, Demaag and Zaban - Spiritual Intelligence & how to develop it by Ashoi (Zoroastrian Yoga) - Part 3

Dear All,

The under mentioned article can be found in Nikhiz Volume 2 Page No 530 written by Dr. Faramroze Sohrabji Chiniwalla which was reprinted in Dini Avaz Vol 6/4 April May June 2001. Also refer to the Chart of 16 Chakras in excel format which will help you better in understanding the Zoroastrian Yoga - Science of 16 Chakras.

The very first step of Ashoi of an Ashwan is a very important tarikaat and has to be fully understood here. Although it looks simple here but is very difficult to put it in practice here. Dill, Demaag and Zaban should work in unison. That is, whatever is in our heart (Dill), should be in our mind (Demaag) and whatever is in our mind should come out through our speech (Zaban). If we do otherwise then hypocrisy arises for what is in our heart something else will be in our mind and we say absolutely opposite of what is in our heart and mind. If Dill, Demaag, Zaban are not in unison then tarikaats followed fails to give its promised results, and Tarikaat merely becomes a show or Akrikaat. The science of our Sudreh Kusti is based on this science of 16 Chakras only and wearing sleevless sudreh with tiri or Girdo or Gireban missing is only Akrikaat and nothing else.

This practice of speaking Truth some may argue that being Harishchandra Satyavan is very difficult in this dishonest world of today we are surrounded with (e.g. it appears to us that If we want a leave in office we may have to tell a small lie otherwise we won’t get it). But let us see for ourselves that our forefathers advanced spiritually very fast and were much happier than us today. Nothing is easy in life and we have to work for it, and we may suffer initially as it appears to us for being truthful, but the Kingdom of Heaven is promised to us if we follow the prescribed path of Tarikaat, and that is a promise by our Paigambar saheb.

Although in the excel chart you may come across the names of the Chakras which sound more like Arabic than of Persian origin but a word of caution here is that Arabic has been originated from Pehelvi or Pehelu. Avesta is not a spoken language and was derived from Pehelvi by Paigambar Saheb. Pazand, Persian, and other semetic languages has come out from the root Aryan language during different civilizations and in different times. Sanskrit and Hindi is also Indo Aryan language and has its origin from the same source but if we enter in that argument, then we will be digressing from our original topic of Chakras, and Ashoi.

The Science of Chakras is very complex and Macrocosmic world of the outer universe that we see as space and planets and stars of the Cosmos can be found as mirror image in our Microcosmic world in our physical body which is a replica or outer cosmic world. "As Above, so Below" using that as key word we proceed further in this amazing subject of 16 Chakras. Also although this Chakra subject can be fully understood with help of a Guru who can show it in our dreams or Sezda Trance, but writing it in words form is only a poor imitation of the actual reenactment of the original kriya going on in nature. As the timeless Bard Rumi says in his beautiful couplet, so ponder on what he says as under:-

"Silence is the language of God, all else is poor translation".

So please excuse my poor translation.

Kind regards,

Firdosh

"Aevo pantaao yo Ashahay, veespay anyaeshaanm apantaanm"

There is only one path, that of Righteousness (Ashoi); all others are non-paths.

What is the first step to reach out for building Ashoi of an Ashwan

Speaking truth, Meher- Patet, Retribution of Sins, Hutoxi, and Unision of Heart, Mind and Tongue.

"Introductory Note by K.N. Dastoor :- What is Religion ? What is Deen ? It is not a mere pass time discussion on a dinner table (or for that matter on Internet chat show) but Zarathosti Mazdiyasni Deen is a way of life which has to be put in actual practice by us.

Deen is three fold 1) Science of understanding Nature and its working which is always hidden to a layman and much patience is required in deciphering Rumz or secrets of Deen.2) Deen that which we know of and understand it, its theory and teachings to be actually put in our day to day practice and put it in amal 3) Bhakti Marg towards the teaching of one's own prophet of the religion in which we are born in. Out of these three stages the most important is the second part of putting our deen in actual practice in our day to day life, and the two pillars on which it stands on are, Science of our Deen and Bhakti that goes along with understanding the Rumz of our deen.

The science of our religion says that in nature there is Sin as well as Good Deeds (Kerfeh) which leads us to Virtues. All that is defined in our religion by Dadar Ahura Mazda (the list of sins are defined exhaustively in our Patet Pashemani prayers). The disorder that arises from the Sinner as well as from the committed sin by the sinner moves the sinner off-track from the straight path of going towards Dadar Ahura Mazda, where as good deeds puts the doer of good deeds firmly saddled on straight path of deen.

The science of our deen further says that Sins are of 10 kinds as under:- Carnal Passions, Anger, attraction towards worldly pleasures, Greed, Ego, Pride , Jealousy, Fraudulent, Back biting, shamelessness and Revolt against Din, Dharma ( Din Dushmani). Where as opposite of the above sins are Kerfeh or Good deeds such as:- Love which is Selfless (and not selfish), Forgiveness, Faith towards God and his teachings of din, Patience, Compassion, Truthful, and Bhakti or Devotion.

The constitution of human is composed of Druj as well as Gaav, but today's world we are living in has gone away from original teachings of our deen and has gone haywire. The seeds of goodness or Gaav has been subdued and shrunk to virtually naught making it as ineffective, where as all the vices are allowed to have its own free run, and in the process man has gone bare sack and led astray, away from religion. (e.g. The laws of land is now favorable to dance Bars, Pubs, and Taverns. The rapist is allowed to go scott free where as rape victim is labeled as the instigator for the rape and is punished, Sex and violence shown in Movies and TV and Censors have gone for a holiday, talks on making abortion legal, promiscuity and contract marriage for mere gratification of carnal desires etc , etc - FKS ) The world has gone crazy and we humans who are yet incomplete are more inclined and prone to be swept away in the vices that we see every day. So Tarikaats has been so formulated in our deen that the sins of Omission and Commission by us will all have to be accounted for. For that Patet or retribution is to be done by us, and Patet prayers has to be recited by us resolving never to commit the same mistake again as a mistake committed again becomes a sin. In all our prayers we have that para "Az hamah Gunah ........... Pa Patet Hom" which is repeated so often that we never fail to notice it whilst praying.

Patet is of three kinds 1) Feeling sorry for what we have done. Acknowledging and accepting what we have done is wrong. 2) As per the law of Keshash whatever punishment that comes our way due to our past sins has to be accepted by us without any grievance, understanding fully well that this is for our own good and to pray for bearing strength for endurance. 3) Resolve truly in our heart of never to commit same sin again and pray for such strength of will power. These three phases of Patet and its essence "Az hamah Gunah............... Pa Patet Hom" has been incorporated in our Patet Pashemani manthra prayers, our Kusti prayers as well as in all our prayers.

The above Patet Tarikaat is common for our Deen as well as other Deens also. A very important point to be noted here is that when an individual follows these Tarikaats then he experiences certain changes within him and his personality changes. This is natural truth hidden behind this sacred science. Even when a sin occurs then certain mechanism occurs within the sinner which is related directly to 16 Chakras of our Keherp. These scientific details as explained in ilme e Khshnoom can be found in further details in Nikhiz Volume 2 Page 530 written by Dr. Saheb Farmroze Sohrabji Chiniwalla.

Zarathosti Deen Science (as well as other deens also) are not very easy to understand and is beyond our ordinary reasoning power, and other name of Deen is Mysticism or "Bateinwad". Without Mysticism our Deen cannot exist and it cannot be fully understood, it is just not possible. Because science of our Deen explains all topics from the smallest dust particle to Ahura Mazda. Today's science has not fully understood and have not come out with satisfactory explanation to the questions asked as :- what is a particle of dust ?, what is a drop of water ?, what is leaf of a tree?, What is love of mother ?, what is Devotion burning in hearts of man for its deen ? What is mind ? What is consciousness ? etc, etc. For the basic criteria in understanding deen is Faith and not reasoning (Mystic Poet Jalaludin Rumi says in one of his couplets that "Observe the wonders as they occur around you. Don't claim them. Feel the artistry moving through and be silent" - FKS note). It is only by following Tarikaats that the hidden secrets get unlocked in our minds eye. And the basic of Tarikaat is Meher-Patet.
That will take us closer to Ashoi and we take the first step towards ashoi of an Ashwan. How does that happen please read what Dr. saheb Faramroze Chiniwalla says below. - K.N.Dastoor.”

The two Spiritual exercises:-

"To speak truth in our daily day to day life is a very important spiritual exercise and it should be done at all cost keeping in mind "To do unto others as you would do to you". That is "It is only in giving that we receive real pleasure", or "Ushta Ahmay, Ahmay Ushta Kahmay Chit". Ushtavad Gatha central theme, meaning happiness to him who gives happiness to others. Ushta means divine ecstasy. If we develop this kind of thinking in all our affairs and relationships towards mankind then we proceed one step towards Ashoi of an Ashwan. This selfless work, an Ashwan does relentlessly day and night without getting tired. If we follow these two Principals then we have laid the foundation stone towards proceeding to first step of Ashoi of an Ashwan, and first some changes in our subtle body, and later in our physical body occur. Ahura Mazda has in all his greatness showered on us such benedictions by giving us physical body and in that body we have 16 Chakras of Keherp which functions in such amazing way. These 16 Chakras move in a way similar to the movement of skies and planets, stars in the Cosmos. Just like the movement of planets and the skies will bring us one day towards Farshokereti in the end, similarly the movement of Chakras will bring us to the same result in the end. It is due to movement of these 16 Chakras in a particular way that our body functions on a daily basis. Apart from the Keherp and its 16 Chakras in it, there are similar machinery in our amazing human body known as "Tevishi", "Ushtan", "Azda", and they are all interconnected to one another. It is with their interplay with one another that 16 Chakras of the Keherp move about and rotate with a particular movement and speed. "Azda" which has "Jaan" in it moves due to Keherp and its 16 Chakras in it. In reality It is due to Ushtan that Keherp and Jaan moves. One of the most common movements that is going on in our body is the movement or circulation of blood in our body (that is known to science also). The 16 Chakras moving in our keherp is very difficult to imagine with our physical senses or mind and is the topic of "Sezda" (Visual Cinematography in our minds eye or Samadhi) which only an Ustad can show us in Trance with their blessings on us. Hence all this cannot be put in form of words at all. But yet a brief overview can be imagined by us. Every second the day today thoughts, speech, and actions that we perform are due to this 16 Chakras of our Keherp, and in turn our thoughts, speech, and actions do effect the movement of the 16 Chakras vice versa. In all the 16 Chakras there are four basic kind of energies moving and they are composed of Fire, Air, Water and Earth. (These four energies are present in each Chakhra in various ways, that is some are active where as some are in dormant state). Hence these four energies of elements namely Fire, Air, Water and Earth are present in all 16 Chakras in active as well as dormant stages in 64 different ways ( 4x16=64). Each Chakra with these four elements in various active or dormant stages either may be of "Rathavya Patha" or "Arathavya Patha" depending upon the person leading righteous life or that of a Darvand without any Tarikaats respectively, and as accordingly the Chakras are in Rathavya Patha" then they start moving in order known as "Hampatha" or Chakras may clash with one another if it moves in "Arathavya Patha" and create disorder in the process. Wastage of energies occur and Chakras may get burnt up in this disorder and can be life threatening for that person. Passions arises out of this disorder and if this goes on beyond the limits then the machinery of 16 Chakras get destroyed and end occurs for that person.

HamaPatha

If each Chakra is to be brought in "HamaPatha" or in order, then 1) Speaking of truth has to be maintained at any cost and 2) We should deal with others as we would like others to deal with us (Ushtavad Gatha's theme). In short to always be in good Mithras. By following these two spiritual exercises it will affect our Keherp's 16 Chakras and they will move in Hamapatha as it is supposed to move and unite with natures Hamapatha vibration of Honvar (Ahunavar) and by doing this much we create Ashoi.

Tabae Va Kaar

We are what we are today due to our past actions, that is, our present actions are due to our past actions or deeds. That is called as "Tabae". Our present physical body is also the result of our past deeds and when our physical body experiences this destiny that is called as "Kaar". Hence we live presently due to nature's law of "Tabae Va Kaar" that is unchangeable and we have to undergo through this law at any cost, which solely depends on all our past good or bad actions. In nature there is no pardoning of our past sins and we get what we deserve. We experience this physical world through our "Indri" or physical senses.( 5th to 8th Chakra and 11th, 13-14-15 Chakras) They are as under :-

5th Chakra of sight, 6th Chakra of smell, 7th Chakra of hearing, 8th Chakra of taste and along with it 11th Chakra of intestines, 13th Chakra of Genitals, 14th Chakra of thighs, spleen, and 15th Chakra of Knees, shin, and lungs.

The four exhalted Chakras of the mind and its relation with 10th Chakra of heart:-

The first four Chakras are very exhalted and in it lies 5 exhalted senses known as "Panje Zarvikash Batein" (which comes under jurisdiction of Sarosh Yazad). The destiny which we have to experience and is known as "Tabae va Kaar" is brought to us through these four Chakras. These 1 to 4 Chakras which are in the compartment of our body acts like a mirror and is so arranged that whatever good or bad destiny known as Tabaeva Kaar is in store, meant for the individual soul, its limits is recognized by these four chakras. These 1 to 4 Chakras are known as Panje Zarvikash batein Chakras and they are related to 10th Chakra of the heart which in turn is related to the wisdom and Kherad of the divine mind. The 10th Chakra of Daena or heart do possess with it Ruvan and Baodang (Vohuman) or divine wisdom. This 10th Chakra of the heart is the Capital Chakra of the physical body and Ahriman is unable to enter this 10th Chakra (and will never be able to infiltrate it) because of its exalted nature, but yet Ahriman has surrounded it and is always on lookout to possess it. Whereas Ahriman has managed to enter other base Chakras which are not exalted. This 10th Chakra has with it the prick of Conscience which is the inner voice of divine wisdom which is always right. This voice of conscience is called as "Patman" or Scale of balance which can tilt or sway to any way which we want the scale to tilt, depending on whether we listen to or ignore the voice of our own conscience.
It is because of this machinery of 10th Chakra and its exhalted nature that a human does possess with him "Insaniyaat" and can reach out for the stars and has inborn capacity to become like a semi Yazad.

Hence 1 to 4 exhalted Chakras sees the destiny which is in store for the person and relates this to the heart 10th Chakra. It being exalted (10th Chakra), in turn passes on the message to physical mind which is governed by 5 physical senses, via the prick of conscience to refrain from any further sins. But our physical mind being of base gross nature, will un-heed the warning given by prick of conscience of the heart and discards the good warning. But it is with his Kherad he has build up that he will listen to the heart and his prick of conscience becomes strong enough and prevents him from committing further sins.

Whatever destiny is in store, is due to "Tabae" and he has no alternative but to experience that destiny due to his past karma, and whatever his physical body experiences in the life time becomes his actions or Kaar. That is the true meaning of "Tabae va Kaar". There is a saying which says as "Budni Hasta Khahad Bud" Whatever was supposed to happen has happened but nature is merciful and we can come out of the rut by using our determination and good effort known as "Fael" or "Purusharth".
Free will has been given to us and we have to choose the right path ourselves only with help of righteous effort or "Roshan Fael", and listen to the prick of our conscience.

Bridge between the exalted Chakras.
We have as Brain exalted mind stationed in the first four Chakras and we have also 10th Chakra of heart which is also exalted. Abridge can be built up between the exalted mind and the heart via 8th Chakra of tongue and the 9th Chakra of the throat. It all depends upon our personal effort known as "Fael Mukhtiyari" What is in our mind should be the same as what is in our heart and we should speak out with our tongue same as whatever is in our mind and heart, then with 9th Chakra of throat, Manthra prayers can be recited and we receive Kshathra or righteous strength of Sherevar and we cultivate within us good traits of being respectful, forbearance, patience, humility which are all characteristic traits of Armaity. By doing this much, we come to a stage of true penitence known as Patet which has truth embedded in it and we become true to ourselves and start life afresh resolving never to commit the same sin again.

Important thing to be noted here is that Tabae va Kaar or destiny is not in our hands where as free will righteous effort known as "Fael Mukhtiyari" is definately within our reach. And with truthful penitence we do Meher Patet. Accepting our own faults in front of others is not very easy and if tongue or 8th Chakra is made use of righteously than we create Asha or Ashoi. Accepting our own faults in front of others will only humiliate and shame us further, but it will also bring humility in us which is Armaity and other characteristic traits of Armaity along with it. That is how he develops further Moral courage, and "Munsaf Mijaj" meaning ability to see things in its correctness, and satisfaction and obeying accepting the will of the lord with open arms is known as "Rayazatmandi". A Rayazatmand person is selfless and not selfish, does not care about any misfortune that comes his way, will never dream of committing any sin, and sweet smell of Amber will emanate from his body he being embodiment of Armaity. He then reaches such a stage easily by making use of his 9th Chakra of throat when he prays Avesta Manthra. He remains firmly attached with Druj Parhej tarikaats thereby keeping his Khoreh clean, along with the Avesta Manthrakhani. He further advances towards the first stage out of total 16 stages of an Athrawan known as "Avizehim" and then proceeds further towards 11th stage of an Athrawan known as "Narma-Nask".

Whatever is his fixed destiny has been recorded in his "Chatthi no Lekh" and no power on this earth can erase that for he has to endure the fruits of his actions through his destiny that is certain because in nature there is no Pardon for any sins committed. But at the same time till his 16 Chakras are operational till last breath of life the prick of conscience will never cease to work and will continue to warn him for any sins or actions committed by him. Till this point it is called as Tabae. But due to our efforts if by always speaking truth with our tongue (8th Chakra) we maintain a connection by listening to our voice of conscience the 10th Chakra of heart due to which 10th Chakra and 9th Chakra of throat (by praying Avesta) start working in unison, and with Tarikaats of Druj Parhej being performed regularly we start having control on our passions. When he listens to his inner voice of conscience he starts thinking positively, and the futility in pursuing the ever short lived limited happiness that we get out of committing Sins of passions. He later on begins to realize that more he tries to reach out for it, further away he is separated from real happiness, which ultimately he will never get no matter how much he tries. But the sin is already committed and he resolves never to commit that same sin again and starts looking for relief or answer from his Guru or Ustad or Deen-Dastur. He uses his efforts or Purusharth "fael" and connects his 10th chakra of Conscience (Antakaran nu Chakra) with his 8th Chakra of tongue. He will be receiving true advice from his Guru later on".

(End note by KN Dastoor:- from the above writing we realize the importance of Patet for sins and they are very much there but along with it there is also sense of realization and owning up for the mistake or sin committed by him which is done with the help of tongue and by saying it. "Aj hama Gunah"....... "pa se Gavashni pa Patet Hom" this phrase comes often in our prayers and the real meaning of it is whatever is in our concience same should be in our mind, and same should be in our tongue by what we say. The vibrations of Patet should come in unison from Dill, Demaag, zaban that is called as Purusharth or "Fael" of a human.

Our deen says that Sins are originated due to our past actions and we get caught in whirlpool of sins and commit sins again (Gunah Az Gunah), but after sin is committed then prick of conscience has to be listened to and not by turning deaf ear to it and do Patet with our mind by firmly resolving never to repeat it and by acknowledging of the already committed Sin with our tongue. If we fail to do Patet then the Chakras move haphazardly and disorder arises.

If we fail to acknowledge Sin after it has been committed, then sinner's "Akoman" is at work here which is opposite of "Vohuman" and spiritual downfall is eminent then. Life is not bed of roses and it is through our relentless efforts (Fael Muktiyari) only, that we do proceed ahead and we develop Sarosh slowly but surely. The tempest of passions subside gradually once we are on path of Tarikaat, Sudreh Kusti Amal, Manthrakhani, Atash Parasti, Yasna.

How do we acknowledge ourselves after the sin is commited ?

Whatever sins have been committed we confess and speak of it before Deen Dastur, Ustad,Guru, Paigambar Saheb, or our true friend whom we trust and we make him our witness or "Gavah".

Afrin, that we have with us such beautiful Knowledge of Khshnoom that has been disclosed by Saheb-Dilan Masters of Demavand to Ustad Saheb Behramshah Shroff and which has been penned down by his authorized Disciple "Ezazati Shagerd" Dr. Saheb Faramroze Sohrabji Chiniwalla..... KND)

"Aevo pantaao yo Ashahay, veespay anyaeshaanm apantaanm"

There is only one path, that of Righteousness (Ashoi); all others are non-paths.
